RESPONSIBILITIES
Applying sound engineering principles and proven statistical methods our Quality Engineer and Manager  will fill a technical leadership role, ensuring high quality and profitable parts are produced to meet customer and company expectations for specifications, costs, yields and delivery.
This individual is responsible for:
  • Partnering with Sales and Manufacturing to provide customer support throughout the quote, contract review, design and manufacturing process
  • Developing, implementing and managing quality control systems designed to ensure continuous production of quality products consistent with established standards, customer specifications and production goals
  • Effectively partnering with manufacturing to achieve increased product quality and customer satisfaction by ensuring the development and implementation of stronger documentation and procedures for our processes
  • Applying SixSigma and other quality tools to facilitate process improvement initiatives
  • Auditing and documenting ISO 9001 Quality Management System procedures and best practices
  • Providing team leadership for the Quality Assurance team to include coaching, oversight and management of team members and key department activities

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degrees in an applied science or related engineering field required 
  • 3 to 5 years Quality Engineering/Management experience 
  • Minimum 3 years customer partnership experience, meeting customer needs regarding definition of specifications, quoting new products, audits and issue resolution
  • Quality System Audit experience required
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in an ISO 9001 registered company 
  • ASQ certified CQM, CQE, CQA a plus
  • Lean/Six Sigma background required
  • Proficiency with maintaining Quality systems
  • COMPETENCIES: Results Driven, Solution Focus, Customer Focus, Team Building, Curious and Innovative, Influence and Communication, Strategic Thinking & Vision and Leadership
  • Proven team player with excellent people skills, ability to motivate and work as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to work “hands-on” with Quality and manufacturing team members in. leading continuous improvement projects and activities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment, meeting deadlines on time and under pressure. 
  • Demonstrated history of thriving in a dynamic, results driven work environment
  • Strong passion for detail, excellent process/project management skills, excellent team facilitation skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Glass/Ceramic/Materials quality engineering and/or fiberoptics manufacturing background a plus.
